Feedback on Director's Commentary

Excellent considerate understanding of the technologies used in production of the video, for example in terms of set design quality and the use of FCP to create effective set design and mise en scene – the kiss represents the electric feel.

There are evident links between creative decision making and use of technology on both productions of the video using professional digital cameras and in the post production editing process – in discussion of match of action, lip syncing and graphic matching’. This is sustained and thorough and accurate in discussion of the branded themes of an electric feel for example in discussion of the beat of the song and pacing of the cuts used in the editing process.
The commentary shows a discrete awareness of the use of new media technology and uses discriminating examples really well, particularly to selection and construction of narrative, editing techniques, such as FCP Tools – such as glow in colour process. Excellent command of terminology and understands and discusses convergence really well – this is impressive knowledge at times.

There is sustained justified decision making links between the technologies used the product and audience reception in terms of the creativity that the group used. Recognises the need to account for errors in the post production stage and the importance of convergent technologies. Well evaluated.
This is a well considered documentary

Well communicated response which demonstrates sound knowledge and understanding whilst at the same time lacking detail in your response.  Do try to add examples into your slides and this will help to develop the arguments that you want to make.  You also need to consider in more detail the marketing mix you have created in your campaign and who this may appeal to - your target audience.  do consider brand image and how you have to market the image of the band in your campaign - you do need to consider dyer on the star image.  Also where would the MV video be shown to whom, where would I be able to buy the CD and see it promoted on a poster.  What is consistent about your campaign?

There is sound understanding of the task in the good presentation that you present. I feel that this could be developed further:
1. More links are needed between your products and real media conventions used across the MV, digipak and music poster.
2. As suggested try to incorporate to your evaluation any comments from the reading of academic argument into your evaluation.
3. Need an entry on your blog which addresses the evaluation question set - how have you used, developed of challenged media conventions.

Please address these points in redrafting of this work.

It is well presented in the PPT posted.

Good Slideshare presentation on the digipak design.  i feel that you could have blogged the evaluation of the shoot day a bit better, by using visual images to illustrate the points you make.  This is clear description, rather than analysis of the shoot, which needed to be discussing set design, including lighting, mise en scene, shot selection for example.

A proficient presentation of the CD digipak design and the importance of album covers.  I feel that you could have developed research more into the conventions of Album digipak's and addressed layout and design more closely.  Excellent initial design's into CD covers for your group artist and good consideration to target audience.  Also from Google docs you might try and embed the PPT into your blog via HTML.

This is excellent work - there are evident clear accounts of your planning and research for your music video production day after half term.  I like the way in which decision making is evident along with reflection and revisions.
Your cast list has been agreed and you need to be working on the set design and organisation of production.
There are one or two ways to develop the blog.  First to begin using a wider range of blogging tools - there are lots of well presented images, but use of Flickr or powerpoint will increase the creativity that is shown on your blog.  Second the valid, detailed and reflective comments that you make need to be developed further with  key media concepts and theoretical ideas;  for example, link the planning to star image,  or how set design and lighting link to mise en scene and/ or what model's of lighting you are using in relation to your set - key, fill, directional, discuss the intensity and colour and what you are trying to represent about your artist.

This will help make a more thorough evaluation of your work.  Well done.
